Obituary

Howard Cecil Phillips, 71, husband of 52 years to Opal (Haggard)Phillips, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Howard was born January 31, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Cecil Thurman Phillips, Jr. and Martha (Surran) Phillips.

Including his parents, Howard was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Duane Phillips; two brothers, Earl & Billy Phillips; and a sister, Donna Myers.

Howard was a retired 32 year System Support Analyst with IBM, a former part time employee with the Anderson County PVA's office, a computer technician for Birdwhistell & Perry Realty & Auction, and worked with his son in their computer business, "All Things Technical". Howard was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church, and taught the Challengers Sunday School Class, he was a deacon, and developed the church website, and handled the technical issues.

Including his wife, Howard is survived by two children, Howard Darrin Phillips (Tracy) of Georgetown, and Jaime Phillips of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Hannah Thomas (Jimmy), Chandler Link, Dustin Link and Cassidy Rose Phillips; a brother, Connie Phillips of Lawrenceburg; and two sisters, Linda Woods (Jack) of Frankfort and Peggy Franklin of Lawrenceburg.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 P.M., Tuesday, July 23 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 24 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Tom Castle, Jimmy Powell, Orbrey Gritton, Larry Dalzell, Glen Birdwhistell and Henry Meirer.  Honorary bearers will be the Challengers Sunday School Class.
