Hollis "Sug" Edgar Ruble, 88, of Taylorsville, husband of Dallas Gabhart Ruble, passed away May 10, 2024 at Baptist Health Louisville.  Born in Anderson County, Ky on March 2, 1936, Sug was the son of the late Elbert Ruble and Drucilla Brown Ruble.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Selina Faith Ruble and Jeffrey Hollis Ruble, and two brothers, Garnett Ruble and Hugh Ruble.

Sug was a retired 30-year employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company.  He and his wife were members of First Baptist Church in Taylorsville.  He enjoyed riding horses, hunting and fishing.

Including Dallas, his wife of 65 years, Sug is survived by a daughter, Sherry (husband Randy) Spellman of Taylorsville; five grandchildren, Addison Ruble, Bailey Ruble, Brad (Mellisa) Blankenship, Chrissy (Denny) Carnes, and Jamie Spellman; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2024 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Pastor Chance McConnell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Waddy, KY.  Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday until the time of service.
