Glennis Lee Hines, 85, of Lexington formerly of Frankfort, husband of the late Martha Jo Gaunce Hines, passed away May 4, 2023 at his home in Lexington. Born April 22, 1938 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Willie Robert Hines and Aline Mae Parker Hines.

A graduate of Henry Clay High School where he was a star football player, Glennis worked as a marble and ceramic tile setter and was the owner of Hines Ceramic Tile based in Frankfort, KY. He was a member of the Local #18 Bricklayer Union and Bricklayer Trowel Trades. An avid sports fan, he built street rods and was a member of the Ancient Age Street Rods.

Survivors include his children, Michael Glenn Hines of Lexington and Melinda Michelle "Mindy" Bonin of Abington, VA; two grandchildren, Robert Hines and Ashby Bonin; three brothers, Fred R. Hines, William D. (Renee) Hiens, and Wayne E. (Cindy) Hiens; a sister-in-law, Joyce Hiens; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Lynn "Debbie" Berryman; a s on-in-law, Robert James Bonin; a brother, Donnie J. Hiens; a sister and her husband, Linda (Scott) Lunsford; a nd a sister-in-law, Arlene Hines.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 12 – 2 PM followed by the service beginning at 2:00 PM Thursday at Ritchie & Peach

Funeral Home. Rev. Justin Hiens will officiate the service. A private burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
