Russell "Gerald" Currans, 78, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY.  He was born October 28, 1944 to Russell Currans and Anna Mae Gillispie Currans in Hinton, KY.  He was retired from Florida Tile in Lawrenceburg, KY and a longtime member of the Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church.

Gerald endured many challenges in life and always faced them with a positive attitude and was a faithful follower with an unending love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  The last year of his life he spent at Hometown Manor where he met and fell in love with all the residents and received so much love and respect.

He is preceded in death by his father, Russell Currans and a nephew, Rusty Ewalt.  Gerald leaves behind a loving family including his mother, Anna Mae Currans, Frankfort, KY, a daughter, Amanda Currans Colerisk, Bridgeport, NE, sisters Sue Fultz (David) Wilmore, KY, and Jean Edwards, Lawrenceburg, KY, brothers, Wayne (Kathy) Currans, Paris, KY, Mike (Angie) Currans, Midway, KY, and Gregg (Sheila) Currans, Cynthiana, KY.  As well as 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church, 565 Carlton Dr., Lawrenceburg, KY.   Dr. Mike Currans and Rev. Rodney Stewart-Wilcox will officiate the service.  Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday from 11 AM until time of the service at 1 PM at the church.

Burial will follow on Saturday in Ravens Creek Cemetery, Harrison County, KY.  Rev. David Fultz will officiate the committal service.
