George Thomas "Tommy" Florence, age 81, husband of the late Linda Moran Florence, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024. George was born in Paris, Kentucky on January 1, 1943 to the late Melbourne Florence and Emily (Dragoo) Florence.

Along with his wife and parents, George was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Florence.

George served his country in United States Army, was a member of the Lakeland Florida Moose Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed hobbies such as fishing and golfing and enjoyed watching Westerns. He was an avid UK fan and loved sports of all kinds. George enjoyed traveling and would often travel to Florida to see his son Brian.

George is survived by his children, a daughter, Deana F. Drury (Jerry), of Lawrenceburg and a son, Brian Thomas Florence (Pollie) of Tampa, Florida; a brother-in-law, Joe Moran (Melissa); a sister-in-law, Glenda Dunn; four grandchildren, Jason A. GoodPaster (Alyssa), Cameron M. Florence, Thomas R. GoodPaster (Casey) and Asa W. Drury (Megan); two great grandchildren, Jason A. "J.J." GoodPaster and Christopher L. GoodPaster, and another great grandchild on the way.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with service to follow at 5:00 P.M. with Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. officiating.
