Gayla June Oliver

Gayla June Oliver, 78, passed away on June 8, 2025 after a battle with cancer.  Gayla was born in Mercer County, KY on August 27, 1946 to James and Geneva Proctor.

Gayla enjoyed a long career as a self-employed beautician but finally retired as a teacher's assistant with the Anderson County Head Start Program.   She also enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and camping at Dale Hallow Lake and Elkhorn Creek.

Gayla was the widow of Curtis Oliver, Jr.  and was preceded in death by her brother Bronson Proctor and sisters Barbara Holt and Cheryl Best.

She is survived by three daughters Sonja (C.L.) Craycraft, Cherie (Steve) Shelton, Tammy (Tim) Crick; eight grandchildren Candace (Clayton) Aylmer, Charlie Craycraft, Cathryn (Jake) Edwards, Christopher Craycraft, Chasidy (Brandon) Yocum, Sabrina (Anthony) LaRubbio, Christina Montgomery and Jaclyn Montgomery; eleven great grandchildren; a brother Paul (Marsha) Proctor; two sisters Jackie (Kenny) Trent and Sheila Wood; along with a large host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00–12:00 with funeral service at 12:00 on Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with nephew Bro. Bryan Proctor officiating.   Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie and Christopher Craycraft, Clayton Aylmer, Jason Proctor, Kendall and Jake Trent.   Burial will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
