Funeral Service for Gary Dennis

Gary Hardin Dennis, 86, husband of the late Ora Beam Carney Dennis, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 in Bardstown, KY.  Gary was born March 9, 1937 in Bloomfield, KY to the late Raymond Rufus Dennis and Priscilla Cero Hardin Dennis.

Gary loved woodworking and was a tinkerer.  He could fix almost anything.  His favorite hobby was small engines.  He was also an avid motorcyclist and went on many grand adventures throughout the west.  His favorite destinations being Glacier in Montana, Wyoming and up the Pacific Coast Highway.  Gary loved square dancing and even made the outfits that were worn.  He was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville and a retired supervisor for General Electric in Louisville.

Gary is survived by his son, Jeffrey Todd Dennis; a daughter, Michelle Elaine Dennis; a sister, Janice Dennis Sutherland; a brother-in-law, Eddie Hager; and his best friend and confidant, Gaynell Hester.

Including his parents and wife Ora, Gary was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Ann Wells Dennis and their daughter, Kimberly Ann Dennis; two sisters, Evelyn Sue Hager and Sandra Kay Grubbs; and a brother Kenneth Ray Dennis and his late wife Helen; and a brother-in-law, Janice's husband, Jewell Sutherland.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 5, 2024 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Cooper officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Friday from 9 A.M., till time of service. Cremains will be buried in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery at a later date.
