Gary Lee Davis, age 67, of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, passed away on July 14, 2026. He was the beloved husband of 39 years to Lori Hinton Davis. Gary was born on April 28, 1959, in Albany, Georgia, to Dorothy Davis and the late Claudius Davis.

He proudly grew up in Tampa, FL before joining the United States Army where he served 14 years as a tank commander with the 2nd Armor Division. During his military career, he traveled the world, making lifelong memories and friends that he treasured. After his military service, Gary worked as a process engineer with General Cable before retiring as an OSHA compliance officer with the Kentucky Department of Labor.

Those who knew Gary knew he never met a stranger. He had a special gift for making people feel welcome and valued. He loved telling stories, sharing laughter, and bringing joy to those around him. Gary also had a lifelong passion for music, which remained an important part of his life.

Above all, Gary cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and PopPop whose greatest happiness came from spending time with the people he loved. He also had a deep love for his animals and leaves behind his companions Maggie, Ruth Ann, and Andy, as well as his newly adopted cats, Big Betty and Little Bruce Wayne, who brought him so much happiness.

In addition to his father, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Davis, and his sister, Kathryn Papesch.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Lori Hinton Davis; his children, Christopher Lee Davis, Thomas Lee Davis, Nicholas Hinton Davis (Bella), Jacob Donovan Davis (Carrie), and Madeline Davis Sizemore (Hootie); and his treasured granddaughters, Olivia Davis, Zoë Davis, and Parker Davis.

He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Timothy and Anthony Hinton; sister-in-law, Renada Steurer; niece, Lucy Hinton; and nephews, Jordan Hinton, Brandan Hinton, Cameron Hinton, and Max Steurer.

In accordance with Gary's wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. A private family service and celebration of his life will be held.
