Freddie Merl Sutton, 70, husband of Patricia Douglas Sutton, passed away August 26, 2020 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born January 5, 1950 in Anderson County, KY, Freddie was the son of the late George Davis Sutton and Ida Azel Robinson Sutton.
Along with his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by a grandson, Dakota Lee Brinegar, a daughter, Beverly Wainscott, and two brothers, Bobby C. Sutton and Harvey Lee Sutton.
Freddie served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He started the first trash collection business in Harrodsburg called Sutton's Trash & Disposal. A former employee of Sylvania Glass in Versailles, he also worked as a mechanic, truck driver, and a backhoe operator. Freddie enjoyed fishing, dove and deer hunting, playing several musical instruments, especially the guitar, also was talented at inventing and making things.
Including his wife Patricia, Freddie is survived by his children, Mechell Sutton (Rodney) Milburn, Gina Sutton (Sonny) Brinegar, Felecia L. Sutton (Brian Fry), Dwayne (Penny) Tillett, and Katina Tillett Hall; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Perry and Ann Hendren; and two brothers, Carl (Lois) Sutton and Jerry W. (Shirley) Sutton.
Visitation will be held 5 – 7 PM Saturday, Aug. 29 th and 12 noon – 2 PM Sunday, Aug. 30th followed by the service beginning at 2:00 PM Sunday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Pastors Burt Paden and F.D. Robinson, Jr. will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Sutton Family Cemetery in Anderson County.

To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky all persons attending a visitation or funeral (public or private) will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
