Freddie Napper Hockensmith, 50, a wonderful and loving husband to Claudia Young Hockensmith, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017. Born March 30, 1966, Freddie is the son of Doris Daniel Hockensmith Howard of Frankfort and the late Cecil V. Hockensmith.

Including his father, Freddie was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Pamela Case Readnour; a grandson, Donnovan Simpson; his siblings, Steve Hockensmith, Betty Anglin, and Brendella Hockensmith; and his grandparents, Fred and Anna Mae Brumback, Gobel and Letha Hockensmith, and Robert and Crystal Daniel.

A former employee of Wild Turkey Distillery and auto mechanic, Freddie had a tremendous love of cars. Over the years he had numerous cars and loved all kinds of auto racing. He collected model hot rods and classic cars, but his greatest passion was his grandkids and his family.

Along with his wife and mother, Freddie is survived by two daughters, Ashley (Donnie, Jr.) Simpson and Jessica Marie Hockensmith of Somerset; a step-son, Shaun D. (Ann) Case of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Sierra Simpson, Gabe Simpson, Kayde Simpson, Haley Case, and Dawson Case; his siblings, Sarah (Charlie) Miller of LaGrange, Ronald (Cathy) Hockensmith of Frankfort, and Phyllis (Louis) McClain of Frankfort. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Freddie's long time neurologist and friend, Dr. William Brooks of Lexington.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Everett Hawkins and Hospice Chaplain Lisa Heuser will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 – 8 PM Monday.
