Frances Elizabeth West Phillips, 95, widow of Stanley Phillips, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born February 20, 1921 in Anderson County, Frances was the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Annie Lydia Martin West.

Along with her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by two sons, John R. Phillips and Marvin Ray Phillips; two daughters, Ruth Ann Carpenter and Frances Lucille Phillips; three sisters, Leona Flynn, Genevieve Gregory and Rosetta Sutherland; and five brothers, William Earl West, Robert Taylor West, Joe Ruby West, Elzie Lee West, and an infant Lester West.

Frances was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Dorcas/Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Frances is survived by a son, Stanley (wife Sue) Phillips, Jr. of Hayes, VA; two daughters, Mary (husband James) Hawkins and Mattie (Lonnie Jr.) Spaulding, both of Lawrenceburg; a daughter-in-law Martha Phillips of Lawrenceburg; a son-in-law Garry Carpenter of Lancaster; a sister, Nora Knight of Dalton, GA; 10 grandchildren, Brenda (Bob) Suttles, Linda (Johnny) Wolverton, Wayne Hawkins, Donna Phillips, Mike (Rhonda) Phillips, Steven (Amy) Phillips, Tina (Dwayne) Colonna, Alan (Leighann) Phillips, Kellye Cheek, Phillip (Amy) Carpenter; a step granddaughter, Krista Spaulding; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, Sept. 26th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 – 7 PM Sunday.

Mrs. Phillips' grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her remaining grandchildren and great grandchildren will be honorary bearers.
