Floyd Scott, 81, formerly of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home in Lawrenceburg, KY. He was the husband of the late Mary Joyce Norvell Scott. Floyd was born August 19, 1933 in Harlan County, KY, the son of the late Jasper and Laura Hamlin Scott.

Floyd worked as the office and accounts payable manager for International Paper formerly Saalfeld Paper in Cincinnati. He attended Cumberland College and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a current member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg where he served as deacon and a Sunday school teacher with the Pairs-n-spares and Freedom/Fellowship classes. Floyd and his wife were former members of the First Baptist Church of Highland Heights where he was a charter member and served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. Floyd was active with Gideon's International Anderson County Camp, a volunteer for Hospice of the Bluegrass for 12 years, and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting.

Floyd is survived by two sons and their wives, David L. (Jean) Scott of Marietta, GA, and Clifford W. (Sherley) Scott of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Hinderer, Laura Scott, Joshua Scott, and Maxwell Scott; two sisters, Mary Brown of Orlando, FL, and Hazel (Chester) Norvell of Florence, KY; and two brothers, Clifford Scott of Lafollette, TN and James Scott of Ft. Thomas. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Visitation will be 1 – 4 pm Monday at the church.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 7th at the Lynn Camp Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
