Florence Minter Brown, 85, of Lawrenceburg passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at her home. She is the widow of John W. Brown and was born July 27, 1928 in Kennesaw, GA to the late Howard Henry and Cynthia Adeline Prather Minter.

In her younger days Florence was quite an accomplished basketball player. She loved fishing, watching movies, and her Atlanta Braves. She was a homemaker and attended the Glensboro Christian Church in Anderson County.

Mrs. Brown is survived by seven children, Crafton D. (Dianna) Anderson of Laurel Hill, FL, Marilyn C. Hansley (Scotty), Elaine B. Osborne, Sandra L. Wagner, all of Lawrenceburg, Chris (Lisa) Brown of Shalimar, FL, Deadra K. (David) Catlett and Mark H. (Krista) Brown, both of Lawrenceburg; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.

Including her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Ronda Wagner, a sister, and four brothers.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, May 16th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Revs. Heath Sherman and James F. Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Thursday.
