Ethel Williams Hawkins Driscoll, 97, of Lawrenceburg, wife of the late John Calvin Hawkins and Ray Driscoll, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. She was born June 12, 1918 in Shelby County, KY, the daughter of the late John R. and Sarah Campbell Williams.
A member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church, Ethel loved to entertain her church friends and pastors when she was younger. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Texas Instruments, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hawkins Massingill and her husband Ron of Frankfort; a grandson, David Massingill and his wife Jane of Frankfort; two great grandchildren, Jonathan Massingill of Ohio and Alexia Massingill of Frankfort; a number of nieces and nephews who loved her very much; and a special friend and caregiver, Janice Goodlett.
Along with her parents and two husbands, Mrs. Driscoll was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Hawkins Grigsby and her husband Billy; three grandsons, Scott Grigsby, Darrell and Duane Massingill; a sister, Lillie Williams Bolin; and five brothers, Everett, Lindsey, Cecil, Elzia, and Elmer "Tommy" Williams.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, Dec. 9th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 – 2 PM Wednesday.
