George "Eric" Smith, 61, husband of 41 years to Joyce (Goodlett) Smith passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at his home . Born November 13, 1957 in Chateau Roux, France, Eric was the son of the late Paul George Smith and Francine J. (Schraepen) Smith.

Along with his parents, Eric was preceded in death by a son, Sean Lee Sutton.

Eric was a retired electrician with Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg.  A member of Shiloh Christian Church, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed cooking out.

Along with his wife Joyce, Eric is survived by a daughter, Marsha McGuffin and her husband Jimmy of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, James Michael McGuffin and his wife Tiffany, Dustin Lee McGuffin and his wife Samantha; four great grandchildren, James Mason McGuffin, Robert Lane McGuffin, Elijah Lee McGuffin and Aubree Rayne McGuffin, all of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Patricia Smith Pollnow of Belgium; two brothers, Kenneth Smith of Florida and Michael Smith and his wife Linda of Belgium; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 P.M. till time of service Wednesday.
