Ellen Louise Durr Ellis, 81, wife of the late Jerry Donald Ellis, passed away October 19, 2023 at her home in Anderson County.  Born July 5, 1942 in Anderson County, Ellen was the daughter of the late James Allen Durr and Sarah Elizabeth Woodridge Durr.

Along with her husband and parents, Ellen was preceded in death by a son Jerry Ellis, Jr. and siblings, Bonnie Goodlett, Juanita Sayre, Shirley Carter, Thelma Beasley, Ronald Durr, Donald Durr, and William Thomas Durr.

A 1960 graduate of Anderson High School, Ellen worked for over 19 years as a cartographer for Rand McNally in Versailles.  She was a member of the Nineveh Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Jamie Ellis, Dwayne Ellis and Dale Ellis (wife Lynn); a daughter-in-law Sandy Ellis; a grandson, Neil Hunter Ellis; and two sisters, Sharon Bowman and Janet (Steve) Skelton.

Visitation will begin at 11 am Tuesday until the time of service at 1:00 pm Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Will Cooper will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie, Dwayne and Dale Ellis, Donald, Darin and Drew Goodlett.
