Ella Marie Harp Akins, 77, of Lawrenceburg passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Lindsey Keelin and Dorothy Lee Hicks Harp.

She was born May 15, 1937 in Franklin County, KY and a member of the Ninevah Christian Church.

Mrs. Akins is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Everett Akins, Sr.; three children, William Everett Akins, Jr. and Cynthia Ann (Marvin) Combs, both of Lawrenceburg, and Dora Lynn (Allen) Paige of Frankfort; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Dionnia Fredrick of Berea and Linda Joyce Mackey of Champion, MI.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Marie Hatfield; a grandson, William Kevin Hatfield, and two sisters Dolores Lee Aldridge and Mary Ruth Perry.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday, July 7th at Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion. Mrs. Akins grandson Chris Akins will officiate. Visitation will be 5 – 8 Sunday and after 12 noon Monday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Joe Hatfield, Jr., William Scott Akins, Jason Everett Akins, Jeremy D. Vaughn, Brian N. Vaughn, Christopher Allen Akins, with Christa Penwell serving as flower bearer. Mrs. Akins 10 great grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.
