Edgar Lee Moss, 74, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Burlington, NJ, husband of Patricia O'Bannon Moss, passed away February 19, 2017.  Born December 30, 1942 in Corydon, KY, Edgar was the son of the late Edgar Moss and Anna C. Powell Moss Davis.

Edgar was a loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He always found a lesson to teach those he cared for when, on the surface, there was no lesson to be seen.  At a young age he was a man among his brothers.  They even gave him the nickname "Manny".

Edgar attended Douglass High School in Henderson County, Kentucky. He played football, basketball and ran track and was ultimately inducted into the Henderson County, Kentucky Hall of Fame for his accomplishments.  He then attended Kentucky State University (KSU) on a track scholarship.  He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education in 1969.  While at KSU he ran his heart out and in the year 2000 he was inducted the KSU Hall of Fame for track.  His pictured plaque resides in the Exum Gymnasium.

Edgar taught health and physical education in Burlington Township, New Jersey for 29 years. While there, he coached track, football, softball and girls basketball.

He also coached women's basketball at Mercer County Community College for 8 years. He still remains the second highest winning coach and during the 1979-1980 year his team traveled to Kansas and ended the year as the 8th best Junior College women's basketball team in the nation.

Edgar assisted his wife Patricia in coaching his daughter's softball teams for 9 years. He refereed high school boys' basketball and umpired little league baseball for a few years.

Edgar was an avid bowler and participated in many tournaments.  He loved fishing and loved his bass boats. He loved frying fish and smoking ribs.

Edgar will be missed everyone he knew.

Along with his wife Patricia of 51 years, Edgar is survived by three daughters, Angela Ann Moss of Richmond, Rosaland Lee Moss of Louisville, and Yvonne Lee (husband Charles) Peace of Richmond; two grandchildren, Ashley Ann Moss and Morgan Chloe Peace; three sisters, Carolyn "Sis" Wills, Beverly Moss, and Pamela Curry; and six brothers, Charles "Butch" Moss, Andre' Davis, Anthony Davis, Steve Davis, John "Doug" Davis, and Mark Davis.

The wake for Mr. Moss will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday, February 25 ^, 2017 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY, followed by the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM.  The service will be led by The Rev. Les Whitlock.    Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
