Marion Earl Pope, age 76, of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2021, after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

He was born on January 10, 1945, in Middle Tennessee, where he lived and worked on the family farm.  He earned his BS and MBA at Middle Tennessee State University and retired from Smurfit Stone Container Corporation after 43 years of service as Financial Controller.  Upon retirement, he founded Little Stuff Incorporation, a handyman service, and operated it for five years.

He faithfully served in the various churches he attended through the years and currently served as deacon at Sand Spring Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Jefferson Pope and Geneva Boyce Pope.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janis Lawrence Pope; two daughters, Risa (Bryan) Randolph and Jana (Dale) Flygstad; four grandsons, Zachary (Maressa) Randolph, Hunter (Manning) Randolph, Noah (Samantha) Randolph and Kamden Flygstad; two great grandsons, Andy and Max Randolph; three sisters, Carol Counts, Dianne (Gary) Guthrie, Sandra Brandon, and two brothers, Steve (Amy) Pope, Kevin (Tonya) Pope, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank Lisha Barrow, Rhonda Fackler, Donna Gilbert and Cathy Spencer for their care and dedication throughout his difficult illness.

The Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, September 18 at 2:00, Sand Spring Baptist Church, with visitation at noon, Dr. Mike Hamrick and Claude King officiating.  Interment at Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
