Due to the weather, services for Dudley Darnell have been postponed until Wednesday, January 8, 2025.  Visitation will begin at 10 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Dudley Bruce Darnell, age 67, husband of Karen Elaine Riddell Darnell, passed away December 30, 2024 in Frankfort. Dudley was born November 27, 1957 in Frankfort, Kentucky to Louise Drury Darnell and the late Luther Clay Darnell, Sr.

Including his father Luther, Dudley was preceded in death by a brother, Jr. Darnell; and a sister, Marie McKinney; and a nephew, Jeffery Darnell

Dudley was a former Butcher with Burkhead & Darnell Processing, working there for over 30 years, and was a member of Antioch Church. He loved cooking, especially barbequing and smoking meats.  He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycles and horses and was a diehard U.K. Basketball fan. Dudley's greatest love was for his family and friends.

Including his wife Karen and his mother Louise, Dudley is survived by his children, Dudley Bruce Darnell, Jr. (Trish) and Joshua Poole (Gina), all of Salvisa, Crystal Gampfer (Matt) and Austin Darnell (Rachel), all of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Tracy Lique (Pat) of Lawrenceburg; step children, Alden Stamper (Mykayla), Aleea Thomas (Cameron), all of Lawrenceburg, and Brandon Stamper of Salvisa; grandchildren, Dudley Bruce "Trey" Darnell, III, Andrew Poole (Caroline), Madison Darnell, Jaylen Ballard, Jaxon Darnell, Dallas Darnell, Gavin Darnell, Kendall Bell-Thomas, Ellie Darnell, Phoenix Stamper and Arkyn Stamper; and his first great grandchild, due in February, Memphis Wayne Pool; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 beginning at 10 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm  at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.   Speaking at the service will be Trey Darnell and Pat Comley.

Casket bearers will be Little Dudley, Austin Darnell, Josh Poole, Trey Darnell, Jaylen Ballard, Andrew Poole and Aaron Murphy

Honorary bearers will be John Wheatley, Rex Burkhead, Camron Thomas, Dude Caldwell, Brandon Stamper, Matt Gampfer, Justin Jones and Jobey Harvey.
