Dorothy Mae Ritchey Akins, 86, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Johnny James Akins, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born November 12, 1929 in Anderson County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Louis Marshall and Mary Lewis Watts Ritchey.

A homemaker, Dorothy was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by four children, Larry Wayne (Clydia) Akins of Lawrenceburg, Geri Simpson of Lawrenceburg, Kathy (Stanley) Wyatt of Lexington, and Angela "Angie" (Ricky) Phillips of Lawrenceburg; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Curtis Marshall (Sylvia) Ritchey of Lawrenceburg and David Ray Ritchey of NC. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Akins Sims and a sister, Leona Ritchey.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 15th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Johnson and Bro. Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Monday.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Akins, Allen Phillips, Jamie Kinney, Billy Webb, Joel Ramey, and Jack Adams.
