Donnie Rubin Simpson, 64, of Lawrenceburg passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home. Born June 10, 1951 in Anderson County, Donnie was the son of the late Paul and Ruby Catlett Simpson.

Donnie served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and worked as an employee of Quad Graphics in Versailles. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #347 in Radcliff and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Donnie is survived by his girlfriend and caregiver, April Reynolds of Lawrenceburg; a son Donnie "D.J." Simpson, Jr. and his wife Ashley of Richmond, and Corey and Katelin; four grandchildren, Megan Satterly, Sierra, Gabriel, and Kaydence Simpson; and six siblings, James Simpson of Louisville, Lewis Simpson of Lawrenceburg, Beulah Stevens of Junction City, Phil Simpson of Louisville, Bonnie Baker and David Simpson of Parksville. Along with his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Diane Keeling Simpson, a daughter Kerri Jo Simpson Satterly, a grandson Donovan Simpson, and two brothers, Paul Simpson, Jr. and John Simpson.

Cremation was chosen. No public services will be held.
