Donald "Don" Owens, 67, of Lawrenceburg went to see Jesus on Sat., Oct. 11, 2014. He is the husband of 41 years of Imojean Brock Owens. Born July 20, 1947 in Cawood, KY, he was the son of the late Ed and Allie Cole Owens.

Don was the son of a coalminer and worked for 9 years in Harlan County coalmines. He retired from the Topy Corporation in Frankfort. He was a member and deacon of Freedom Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, fishing, yard sales, music, and a student of the Bible.

Along with his wife, other survivors include two sons, Brian (Melinda) Owens of Lawrenceburg and Brandon (Christina) Owens of Shelbyville, 6 grandchildren, Devin, Eric, Gavan, JoJo, Beth and Lexie; 4 brothers, Fred (Brenda) Owens and Ron (Mary Ann) Owens of Lawrenceburg, Clifford Owens of Bardstown, and Lawrence Owens of Cawood.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Owens, and 3 brothers, Beryl, Herbert, and Curt Owens.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, Oct. 15th at Freedom Baptist Church, 1010 Powell Taylor Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY with Bro. Brian Owens, Bro. Chris Parrish, and Bro. Steve Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 Tuesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home and after 11 am Wednesday at the church.
