Funeral Service Broadcast for Don Glasgow

Donald Christy "Don" Glasgow, 76, husband of the late Mildred Ann Glasgow, passed to his Heavenly home on June 27, 2025 in Frankfort, KY.  Born in San Diego, CA on February 12, 1949, Don was the son of the late Ralph William Glasgow, Sr. and Sarah Brewer Glasgow.

Don entered the U.S. Navy following high school and served as a TD2 (Technician 2nd Class).  During his service he worked on the ship flight deck and served three tours in Vietnam.  Following the Navy he also served in the Kentucky National Guard and retired working as a Lieutenant Corrections Officer for the Kentucky Department of Corrections at Blackburn Correctional Complex and Frankfort Career Development Center.  Don loved his Lord and was an active member of Fox Creek Christian Church.  There he served in many capacities, as a door greeter, a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class and most recently the Then and Now Sunday School Class.  Don enjoyed going each week and ministering at the Access Soup Kitchen in Frankfort where he made many friends that were dear to his heart.

Along with his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Roland "Ronnie" Glasgow.

He is survived by his two children, William E. Glasgow of Lexington and James P. (Samantha) Glasgow of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, Kira, Parker, Twila, Vincent and Bruce Glasgow, and Floyd Meeks; 2 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Glasgow, Jan (Donnie) Campbell, and Sharon (Kelly) Donnell; a niece, Tammy (Benny) Huff; a nephew, Donnie (Joani) Glasgow;  a dear special friend, Kelli Carroll; and his beloved dog, Bella.

Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Tuesday and after 9:30 am Wednesday until the time of service at 11 am Wednesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Tim Wells, Danny McGaughey, and Ivan Spencer officiating.  Burial with military honors will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County, KY.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Glasgow, Donnie Campbell, Jimmy Mitchell, Bob Cole, Stuart Pierce, Michael Craigmyle, Tim McLaughlin, and Billy Lay.  The men of Access Soup Kitchen and Men's Shelter will serve as honorary bearers.
