Donald Everett "Donnie" Franklin, 79, of Georgetown, formerly of Lexington and Lawrenceburg, husband of Francine Wiley Franklin, passed away July 18, 2022 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.  The son of the late Johnny Floyd Franklin and Nannie Ethel Gregory Franklin, Donnie was born May 30, 1943 in Frankfort, KY.

A 1961 graduate of Anderson High School, Donnie retired as the manager of Citizen's Lumber Company in Lexington and previously worked at Pennington Lumber in Frankfort.  He was an avid golfer and gardener.

Including his wife, Francine, of 60 years, he is survived by his two children, Ardena Goins (husband Jeff) of Georgetown, Glenn Franklin (wife Jay) of Lexington; five grandchildren, Joshua (Jade) Franklin, Brittany Wethington, Casey (Chris) Franklin, Christian (Colbey) Adair, and Peyton Franklin; five great grandchildren, Jensyn, Judd, JoJo, Blakely and Charlotte; four sisters, Anna Belle Glass of Mt. Eden, Thelma (Wendell) Bruce of Lawrenceburg, Jean (Larry) Gaines of CA, Sherri Hahn of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Phillip (Donna) Franklin of Lawrenceburg; a brother-in-law Lisco Beasley; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Joyce Hutcherson, Vivian Beasley, Hollis Franklin, and Johnny Keith Franklin.

Visitation will be held from 1 – 2 PM Friday, July 22, 2022 followed by the memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM Friday at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  His nephew, Bro. Garrett Franklin will officiate the service.  Cremation was chosen.
