Don McKail Hurst, 83, husband of 62 years to Boneva Hampton Hurst, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the VA Medical Center, Leestown Road, Lexington, KY. Born May 30, 1935 in Anderson County, Don was the son of the late Sanford and Beulah Basham Hurst.

Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Kay Hagan.

Don was a 1953 graduate of Western High School and a self-employed electrician for 47 years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Redemption Point Church of God in Springfield, KY.

Including his wife, Don is survived by three children, Debbie Elaine (Jeffrey Allan) Johnson of Jamestown, OH, Lisa Karen (Phillip) Harris of Frankfort, and Mark Stewart Hurst of Lawrenceburg; a son-in-law, Larry Hagan of Beattyville; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 29 ^th from 10 am – 12 noon at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, KY.

The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12 noon at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Junior Fields and Bro. Jeremy Thompson will officiate the service. Burial with military honors will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 PM at Lebanon National Cemetery, Lebanon, KY.
