Deborah Jane Bynum Woodruff, 73, wife of William "Bill" Arthur Woodruff, passed away August 31, 2024 at her residence.  Born in Dallas, TX on August 27, 1951, Deborah was the daughter of the late Uriah Dalton Bynum and Mildred Rebecca Johnson Bynum.

Along with her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by a sibling, Baby Bynum; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Woodruff.

Deborah was a cherished member of Alton Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg where she served as a devoted Prayer Warrior, Sunday School teacher, and active participant in WMU and GA's, Deborah's faith and community spirit touched countless lives. She graduated from high school in Albuquerque, NM, and earned a theology degree from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN. Deborah and her husband Bill moved to Lawrenceburg in 1976 from Texas, where she devoted her life to service in many roles. Her career included positions at Walmart, the State of Kentucky, and as Financial Secretary for both ICES and Alton Baptist Church. She also owned a cake shop, taught cake decorating classes for the community at the high school, and served as a Girl Scouts leader. Beyond her professional and volunteer work, Deborah had a deep love for her horses, enjoyed playing games, cross-stitching, making clothes, and embraced the role of an adopted mother and friend to many. Her warm heart and unwavering kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.

Including Bill, her husband of 50 years, Deborah is also survived by her children, Rebecca Jane (Chris) Layton of Claremore, OK, Esther Lee (Steve) McKaig of Lawrenceburg, KY, Mary-Ellen (John) Chapman of Lawrenceburg, KY, and William Andrew Dalton (Valerie) Woodruff of Volo, IL; a brother, John Dalton (Rebecca) Bynum of Woodway, TX; 11 grandchildren; and in-laws, Karen (Lee) Fraze, Bob (Becky) Woodruff, Paul (Lynn) Woodruff, and Margaret (Charles) Smith.

Visitation will be held from 2- 4 PM on Wednesday, September 4th followed by the service at 4:00 PM at Alton Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg with Kris Grimes officiating. Burial will be held Friday, September 6th beginning at 12:30 PM at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County, KY.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Layton, Steve McKaig, John Chapman, Andrew Woodruff, Greg Cinnamon, and Larry Etherington. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be John Bynum, Daddy Bill Hudson, Dale Carpenter, and Paul Dorman.
