Davis Reed "Mac" McMichael, 91, husband of the late Wilma Carollyn Hanks McMichael, passed away on June 11, 2026, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky. Born in Anderson County, Kentucky, on August 8, 1934, Davis was the son of the late Charles Reed McMichael and Ella Belle Medley McMichael.

Davis proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Hope Community Church. He retired from IBM after more than 40 years as a machine operator. Davis enjoyed golfing with friends, gardening, and caring for his beloved dogs. A devoted grandfather, he took great pride in supporting his grandchildren in their activities and accomplishments. He also spent many years coaching women's slow-pitch softball with the Frankfort Blazers, helping lead the team to three state championships.

Davis is survived by his children, Eric (Jean-Ellen) McMichael of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Tammy McMichael, Marty (Kristi) McMichael, and Candy (Jimmy) Marquardt, all of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Steve (Jamie) McMichael of Hartford, Kentucky, Matt (Tami) McMichael of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Gabe McMichael of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Brooke Marquardt (Ross) Allen of Lexington, Kentucky, and Lane (Sarah) Marquardt of Tampa, Florida; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, with Dr. Jeff Eaton officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gabe McMichael, Lane Marquardt, Ross Allen, Steve McMichael, Matt McMichael, Colt McMichael, and Case McMichael.
