LAWRENCEBURG – David G. Webb, 71, husband of Dixie McKee Webb, and father of Lee Catherine Sweet and David Reid Webb (Rachelle) passed away Monday, Sept. 8 in Lexington, KY, after a long illness.

David is also survived by two grandsons, Duncan Clay Sweet and Nathaniel Wallace Webb; sisters, Mary Cinnamon, Pauline Chavez, Bertie Eads, Betty Webb and Linda Webb Hilliard, and brothers, Winset Samuel Webb and Sammy Allen Webb. David was the son of the late Willie Sam and Clellie Aldridge Webb.

David attended Anderson County High School and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky. After graduating from the University of KY, David served in the office of Adjutant General with the US Army in Germany and the surrounding countries. He served as President of the Lawrenceburg Rotary, was Commander of American Legion Post 34 for many years, and was a Workmen's Comp Hearing Officer, traveling throughout Kentucky. Locally he also served as Master Commissioner and Trial Commissioner. At the time of his death, David served on the Bluegrass Mental Health Board and the Kentucky Fair and Horse Show Board.

David was an avid lover of nature with a vast knowledge that included all species of birds, plants and animals. A favorite hobby was bird watching, and traveling to birding festivals,. He was a member of the KY Tropical Fish organization, and attended conventions throughout the United States. Among other interests was his love of travel and he had visited many countries, where he extended his knowledge of cultures and traditions.

Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Thurs, Sept. 11th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 8 pm led by Rev. James Wheeler.

Interment: Cremation

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Bluegrass Mental Health Board and Nami of Lexington.
