Obituary

Curtis Marshall Ritchey, 86, husband of the late Sylvia Larkin Ritchey, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020.  Born April 21, 1934 in Anderson County, Curtis was the son of the late Louis Marshall Ritchey and Mary Louis Watts Ritchey.

Along with his wife and parents, Curtis was preceded in death by a step-son, Michael Burton Ashburn, and two sisters, Leona Ritchey and Dorothy Akins.

Curtis was a lifetime member and currently the oldest member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served for years as the church custodian.  A former employee of Kraft Foods in Lawrenceburg, Curtis was also a farmer and enjoyed woodworking.

Curtis is survived by his two sons, James (wife Sandy) Ritchey and Philip (wife Phyllis) Ritchey, and their mother, Barbara Anglin, all of Lawrenceburg; four step children, Linda (Bill) Bates of Lawrenceburg, Jimmy Dale (Mary) Ashburn of Monticello, Johnny Dean Ashburn of Lawrenceburg, and Steven Craig (Alice) Ashburn of Lawrenceburg; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, David Ritchey of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church with burial following in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Curtis' son, Philip Ritchey and Dr. Mike Hamrick will officiate the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Ritchey, Sheldon Ritchey, Josh Ritchey, Philip Akins, Larry Akins, Homer Witten, and Rusty Cummins.  Honorary bearers will be Jim Sayre and the men of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Memorials in memory of Curtis Ritchey are suggested to Fellowship Baptist Church, c/o Jim Evans, 1241 Ritchey Lane, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.

Service are under the direction of the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.ritchieandpeach.com .

To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky all persons attending a visitation or funeral (public or private) will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.  Fifty (50%) occupancy of the funeral home/church will be in practice.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
