Craig Scott "Jake" Jenkins, 61, husband of Becky Peak Jenkins, passed into eternal life with his Lord on Saturday, April 24, at the Bluegrass Hospice Center in Lexington.

Born July 19, 1959, to Charles Leslie Jenkins and the late Glenda Drury Cooper, Craig was a lifelong resident of Anderson County, graduating from Anderson County High School in 1977. He and Becky were high school sweethearts who married following her 1979 graduation and would have soon celebrated 42 years of marriage. God blessed their marriage with two children, a son Jeremy (Melanie) and a daughter Lindsey Brown, both of Lawrenceburg, then later added another young man to the family and made him their son, Ken Scobey (Jodi) of Lakeland, FL.

Craig deeply loved his family and friends. Becky called him her social butterfly, often waiting on him to finish talking to someone so they could go home. Retiring from IBM/Lexmark after 30 years, he later worked for more than 10 years for Kentucky Fish & Wildlife at the Taylorsville Wildlife Management Area, a job he loved going to every day. Craig loved hunting, fishing, softball and golf and was also a passionate spectator at many basketball, baseball, and softball games, though referees and umpires were not always happy he was in the crowd. He grew up loving NASCAR racing, attended races at several tracks, and continued watching televised races each weekend throughout his life. His favorite activity of all was the many camping trips with family and friends, something he and Becky had been doing for more than 30 years.

Craig loved the Lord, worshipping at Corinth Christian Church where he served as a deacon and youth leader for many years. He also served as a director at Camp Calvary for many years. His life was a quiet testimony of faith, leading by example in the way he went about his life with family, friends and co-workers.

In addition to his wife, children, and father, he is survived by nine grandchildren, Clay, Cole, Shelby, Hunter, Bella, Taryn, Kevin, KJ and Kamryn; stepfather Donald Cooper, stepmother Doris Jenkins, a father-in-law Raymond Peak, the brothers and sisters he gained by marriage, Larry and Patsy Peak and Berry and Barbie Young, as well as his beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Cooper, and mother-in-law Rachel Peak.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Ninevah Christian Church with ministers Matt Sawyer and Terry Cooper.  Visitation will be from 4 - 8 P.M., Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Ninevah Christian Church and after 9 A.M., Wednesday till time of service at 11 A.M.  Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetery with Will Cooper speaking.

Casket bearers will be Clay, Cole and Hunter Jenkins, Kevin Brown, Larry Peak, Berry and Logan Young.

Honorary bearers will be Shelby Jenkins, Bella and Taryn Brown, KJ and Kamryn Scobey and Brooke Slone, Timmy and Jeff Drury, Brent Monroe and the elders and deacons of Corinth Christian Church.
