Coleman "Jake" Adams, 82, husband of 42 years to Rita Carlton Adams, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born July 11, 1937 in Anderson County, KY, Coleman was the son of the late Reo "Jack" Adams and Hallie Mae Yates Adams.
Along with his parents, Coleman was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Chrisman, a brother Billy Adams, and a brother-in-law Seth Jones.
Coleman was a 44 year employee of Universal Fasteners in Lawrenceburg and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. A member of the Ninevah Christian Church, Coleman was known for his sense of humor and his love for picking at his family and friends.
Including his wife, Coleman is survived by his four daughters, Teresa (Kent) Cox, Dawn (Randy) Chrisman, Kelley (Joey) Puckett, and Jaime (Doug) Carter, all of Lawrenceburg; twelve grandchildren, Jacob and Brenda Cox, Jonathan and Brittany Cox, Chris and Emily Powell, Evan and Emily Chrisman, Kamryn Carmickle, Chayse Puckett, Mayci Puckett, Weston Puckett, A.J. Carter, Danica Carter, Joel Carter, and Keren Carter; five great grandchildren, Hallie and Greg Cox, Ava and Madeline Powell, Malachi Chrisman; two sisters Brenda (John L.) Hume and Diane Jones; and a sister-in-law Corinne Adams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23 rd from 3 – 8 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.
Service will be on Thursday, Oct. 24 th beginning at 11 AM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Jacob Cox and Doug Carter will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery in Anderson County.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Chrisman, Kent Cox, Joey Puckett, Jonathan Cox, Evan Chrisman, and Chris Powell. Honorary bearers will be Mark Adams, Roger Carlton, Jerry Shryock, Tommy Houchin, Johnny Hume, Davin Jones, Brian Jones, Chris Hume, and John Hume.
Memorials in memory of Coleman Adams are suggested to the Eric Chrisman Scholarship Fund, c/o Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg, 126 N. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
