Funeral Service Broadcast for Clayton Ruble

Aaron Clayton Ruble, 85, husband of Shirley Cornish Ruble, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center – ER. Born in Anderson County on October 19, 1938, Clayton was the son of Edgar Jewell Ruble and Juanita Brown Ruble.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Timothy Clayton Ruble, a brother Stephen Jewell Ruble, and a brother-in-law Garvice Stratton.

Clayton retired after 25 years as a tool & die maker at IBM, served in the Army National Guard and was known for his many years of cutting cedar posts in Anderson County. His passion was spending time in the outdoors while fishing and hunting with his kids, grandchildren, and friends.  Clayton was a member of Ninevah Christian Church where he was a member of the Outdoor Group.  He also served as a Dean at Camp Calvary, and was a former member of Anderson Christian Church, where he served many years as superintendent.  Clayton loved his Savior, and his sincere passion regarding the salvation of everyone he came into contact with.

Including Shirley, his wife of 50 years, he is also survived by two children, Rusty (Karen) Ruble of Lawrenceburg and April (Eric) Lowery of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Sarah Ruble (Ryan) Dean, Clay Ruble, Robert Aaron Lowery, and Nathaniel Levi "Nathan" Lowery; two great grandchildren, Addison Jewell Dean and James Russell Dean; and his sister, Lavon Stratton of Lawrenceburg.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM Sunday, March 10th and after 9 AM Monday until the time of service at 11 AM Monday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2024 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rick Burdette and Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clay Ruble, Monty Stratton, Shane Stratton, Ryan Dean, Robert Boston, Sammy Alves, Chad Cooper, and Lee Moore.  Honorary bearers will be Aaron and Nathan Lowery, Scott Young, and Tra Reed.
