Allen Clark Rowland, beloved husband of Roxie Rowland, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, after a brief illness.

The son of Allen Clark Rowland, Jr. and Alice King Rowland, he was born in Frankfort, KY on April 13, 1941; and he graduated from Anderson County High School in 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rebecca Rowland Wilson.

Clark, as he was known to friends and family, was a man of great integrity, hard work, and faith. He lived a full life in constant service to his community and fellow man. He worked the majority of his career for the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Safety Director, travelling all over the state, inspecting government sites.

Clark was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg where he once taught Sunday School, was a member of the Believers Sunday School Class, served as an usher, and was a part of the Safety Team.

In addition to his work in state government, Clark was an EMT instructor and evaluator and a member of the Kentucky EMT Instructor's Association. He trained and tested several generations of EMTs. He was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross, for whom he was First Aid-CPR Instructor, an Instructor Trainer, and attained the highest level of instructor possible: Instructor Trainer Educator.  In the 1980s, Clark was the director of Anderson County DES (Disaster and Emergency Services), now known as Emergency Management. Upon retirement, he became a deputy coroner for Anderson County, where his compassion served citizens in most difficult times. Up until the time of his death, Clark was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Bourbon Trail Lodge #90 in which he served as chaplain.

Clark was quite talented. He made knives and crafted leatherwork as a hobby. He was a stage magician/illusionist, and he performed many shows across the state at schools, churches, scouting events, birthday parties, etc. all free of charge. He was sometimes known to put on a magic show for the residents of juvenile detention facilities after an inspection.

The accomplishments in Clark's life were impressive, but most impressive was his love for his family, especially his darling wife of almost 66 years, Roxie. He loved big and will be missed by two sons: Richard Dale Rowland (Jill Carney Cox) and James Allen (Chrystal) Rowland. Perhaps Clark's favorite title was that of "Poppy" as he doted on grandchildren Jessica (Nolan) Walls, Jason Rowland, Kirby (Jade) Rowland, Evan (Eunji) Rowland, Delaney (Jayden) Orellana, and Jacob Allen-Clark Rowland; great-grandchildren: Alee (Matthew) Kuhn, Mckinley (Cole) Tschudy, Ashton Walls, Haden Rowland, Hope Rowland, Jaycie Rowland (Mason Buchanan), Jaylen Rowland, Dani-Grace Rowland, Paisley Rowland, Kali Rowland, Slade Rowland, Braxton Rowland, Briella Rowland, and Leo Orellana; great-great-grandchildren: Arlie, Aleeah, Maisey, Ellie May, Everleigh, and Grayson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 111 North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, KY, with Dr. Bob Ehr officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, KY. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Glen Drury, Jason Black, Matthew Kuhn, David Hughes, Josh "Opie" Satterly, and Steve Votaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Shirley Hoskins, Rick Drury, Jayden Orellana, and Mason Buchanan, and members of the Believers Sunday School Class.
