LAWRENCEBURG – Chester Lesley Byrd, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Lawrenceburg, KY on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Chester was born February 5, 1965 in Woodford County, KY to the late Ralph Byrd and Laura Bell Gibbons Byrd.

Chester attended Golden Pathway Fellowship and was a former employee with Billy M. Paving.  Chester had a green thumb and could grow anything from vegetable gardens to flower beds. He took great pride in his gardens and had received an award from Anderson County for the most beautiful flower garden, an award he was quite proud of.

Chester is survived by a sister, Margaret Gay of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Including his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his siblings, Gennie Gregory, Virginia Lear, Ben Byrd, Ida Matherly, Ralph Dean Byrd, Orville Preston Byrd, Nancy Maddox, Peggy Byrd, Lawrence William Byrd, Robert Keith Byrd and Donald Ray Byrd.

A time of visitation will be held from 10 A.M. till 11 A.M. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home, followed by the graveside service at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with Pastor Sharol Byrd Salyer officiating.
