Charles Joseph "Butch" Shofner, age 74, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024. Butch was born on August 22, 1950 in Louisville, KY to the late Charles Shofner and Edna Miller Shofner.

Butch moved from Louisville to Lawrenceburg, where he proudly owned and cherished the life he built on his farm. His top priority was always his family. He loved spending time with them creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Butch also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and finding joy in nature. He had a great passion for watching and betting on horse races. He loved going to the track and, later in life, embraced the convenience of placing his bets online after he could no longer attend in person.

Along with his parents, Butch was preceded in death by a son, Charles Chadwick "Chad" Shofner; his twin sister, Charlene Wright, and sisters Joyce Wather and Shirley Cox.

Butch is survived by his daughter, Dana Rodgers (husband, Todd); grandchildren, Cory Case (Lindsey) and Madison Case; a granddaughter in spirit, Lesley Alvarez; a great granddaughter, Emerlyn "Baby Em" Case; brothers, Steve Shofner and Larry Shofner; his beloved mother figure, Margaret Hardesty Johnson; his brother by choice, John Day; and several loved nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will take place 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, September 23, 2024. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
