Charles Leslie Jenkins Funeral Service LIVE Broadcast

Charles Leslie Jenkins, son of the late Charles T. and Onita Baxter Jenkins, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center at the age of 88.

He was born in Anderson County in 1937, baptized as a young teenager at Shiloh Christian Church and graduated from Western Anderson High School. He had a long career with IBM which included one year in New York followed by many years at the Lexington, Kentucky plant and the Charlotte, North Carolina plant where he eventually retired.

Depending on when and where you met him, you knew him as Leslie, Les, Charles, Charlie or maybe even C.L. Whatever you called him, you knew him as someone who loved to be around people – talking, laughing and telling stories. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and was always happy to hear that fish was on the menu for any meal. He was a lifelong NASCAR racing fan and attended many races at various tracks with family and friends and was a die-hard Chevrolet fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris B. Jenkins, and his son, Craig Jenkins.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Becky Jenkins; two grandchildren – Jeremy (Melanie) Jenkins and Lindsey Brown; seven great-grandchildren – Clay (Brooke) Jenkins, Cole (Samantha) Jenkins, Shelby Lynne (Connor) Purvis; Hunter (Shelby) Jenkins, and Bella, Taryn and Kevin Brown; three great-great-granddaughters – Iris, Oakleigh and Hartlyn Jenkins; along with many special friends in Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Terry Cooper and Matt Sawyer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery in Anderson County, Kentucky.
