Charles Thomas Buffin, age 84, husband of  14 years to Tina Jane Childers Buffin, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Frankfort.  Charles was born March 5, 1938 in Woodford County, KY to the late William John Buffin and Mary Clay Barnes Buffin.

Including his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years and mother of his children, Dorothy Dale O'Nan Buffin;  and his sister Clara Belle Flora.

Charles was of the Christian faith.  He retired from Keeneland, where he worked in maintenance for over 18 years.  Charles loved to tinker with lawn mowers and was an avid fisherman, hunter,  and had a passion for boats.

Including his wife Tina, Charles is survived by his children, Sonja Williams and husband Barry of Frankfort, Mary Ellen Alcorn and husband David of Lawrenceburg, Charles Thomas Buffin, II and wife Marilyn of Jeffersonville, IN;  two step children, Tara Thayer and husband Mike , and James Keith Carpenter, Jr. all of Mansfield, OH;  a brother, Eddie Buffin of Versailles;  eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Rucker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 11 AM till time of service at 1 PM.

Casket bearers will be Michael Gray, Sean Gray, Mike Thayer, Brandon Alcorn, David Alcorn, Barry Williams, Mason Rucker and Eric Rucker.
