Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Blakeman, 63, passed away July 23, 2020 at Frankfort Care & Rehab Center.  Born June 7, 1957 in Frankfort, KY, Charlie was the son of the late Eugene Blakeman and Bonnie Hahn Blakeman.

A 1974 graduate of Western High School, Charlie attended E.K.U. and served in the U.S. Navy.  Charlie was a self-employed painter and a former employee of the Tyrone Rock Quarry and Military Affairs with the KY National Guard.  He was a guitar musician and enjoyed spending time on the beach and could lite up a room with laughter.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Terri Jacobs of Frankfort; two children, Christian Amanda Blakeman of Lawrenceburg and Jackson (Vanessa Lawson) Blakeman of Lexington; step-daughter Jessica Cardwell of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jaya, and Jenna; his siblings, Jeanne (Paul) Coke of Taylorsville, Ira Lee Blakeman of Frankfort, Anne Freeman and Beth (Bill) Barker, both of Lawrenceburg; several nieces, nephews, and special cousins.  Charlie was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ronnie Freeman.

Private family services will be held for Charlie at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Anderson County.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert, Anthony, and Chris Coke, Barren Hawkins, Chris Coke, Blake and Brett Drury.  Honorary bearers will be David Hilterbran and Mike Young.
