Celebration of Life Broadcast for Charlene Wash Meeks

Charlene Wash Meeks, 57, wife of Jay Meeks, passed away March 4, 2025 at UK Hospital in Lexington after an acute brain injury.  She was honored for her selfless sacrifice of organ donation.  Charlene was born in Versailles, KY on July 4, 1967, daughter of Judith "Judy" Faye Goodlett Wash and the late Wilson "Nappy" Wash.

Charlene was preceded in death by her father, Wilson Wash Jr. (Nappy), and her son-in-law, Jonathan Robert Liles (Meeks).

Along with Jay, her husband of 37 years, she is survived by her daughter, Samantha, son-in-law James, three grandsons, Floyd, Vincent and Bruce, her mother, Judy, two sisters Angela (John), and Sandy, four nephews, John Wm., Andrew, Elias, and Ethan, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Charlene attended Fox Creek Christian Church and was a selfless servant of the Lord. She loved time with her family, her many animals, and enjoyed gardening.

A Celebration of Charlene's Life will be held from 5 - 7 PM Monday, March 10, 2025 followed by a service beginning at 7:00 PM Monday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.   Pastor Ivan Spencer will officiate the service.  Cremation will follow the services.
