Carolyn Josephine Burks Hudson, age 84, of Tampa, FL, widow of Albert Michael Hudson, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 in McDonough, GA. Carolyn was born on January 7, 1940 in Lawrenceburg, KY to the late Harry Burks and Mary B. Hall Burks.

Carolyn was a devoted CNA at King's Daughter Hospital and Stewart Home School in Frankfort, KY. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, KY. She also attended the Lincoln School. Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, finding her greatest joy in her family and cherishing every moment with them. Carolyn's passions included tending to her flowers, enjoying jewelry, and engaging in fishing and watching golf. Her warmth and enthusiasm will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Along with her husband and parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Maurice Kelly McKee; her brother Charles Lewis Burks; and her sisters, Jacqueline Redd and Jean Penny.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Michael "Randy" Hudson of Salvisa, KY, Michaela (Marcus) Moore of McDonough, GA, Melanie Campbell of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Marla Campbell of Tampa, FL; ten grandchildren, Marissa Campbell, Morgan Thompson, Darion Thompson, Devin Thompson, Trey Thompson, Calvin Michael Campbell, Cameron Campbell, Marcus Myles Moore, Michael Moore, and Samantha Hudson; eight great-grandchildren, Sahmaria, Kyrie, Zymir, Cartier, Jahzara, Aniyah, Malia, and Jamir; a sister, Leona Smith of Frankfort, KY; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Larry) Hudson and Cheryl Guthrie both of Lawrenceburg, KY.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024 followed by the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Marshall will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Hills Cemetery.
