Wilma Carollyn Hanks McMichael, 85, wife of Davis Reed McMichael, passed away February 18, 2024 at her home in Lawrenceburg.  Born in Lawrenceburg on April 17, 1938, Carollyn was the daughter of James Melburne Hanks and Alice Ray Phillips Hanks.

She was a retired employee of Austin Nichols Distillery, where she worked for over 38 years.  A member of Hope Community Church, she enjoyed reading, painting, drawing, bird watching, and working in her flowers.  But most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Including Davis, her husband of 68 years, she is survived by her children, Eric (Jean-Ellen) McMichael of Elizabethtown, Tammy McMichael, Marty (Kristi) McMichael, and Candy (Jimmy) Marquardt, all of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Steve (Jamie) McMichael, Matt (Tami) McMichael, Gabe McMichael, Brooke Marquardt (Ross) Allen, Lane (Sarah) Marquardt; eight great grandchildren with one on the way; and a brother, James Melbourne "Jimmy" Hanks II and his wife Edith of Lawrenceburg.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hanks Stratton.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Wednesday and after 9 AM Thursday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gabe McMichael, Lane Marquardt, Ross Allen, Steve McMichael, Matta McMichael, Colt McMichael, and Case McMichael.
