Carol Jean McHenry Martin, 87, wife of Ronald George Martin, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on September 3, 1939, in Tuscola, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Rexford Clinton McHenry and Margie Rose Gregory McHenry.

Carol was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, where she sang in the choir and participated in the Christian Workers Circle women's group. A retired educator, she taught English, speech, and drama in Illinois and later worked for the Kentucky Department of Education after moving to Kentucky. Carol was also an accomplished actress and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

In addition to her husband of 64 years, Ronald George Martin of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Carol is survived by her brother, Gregory Lance McHenry and his wife Patricia McHenry of Paris, Illinois; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at First Christian Church, 300 South Main Street, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky 40342, with Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time prior to the service.

A second funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Central Time on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in the chapel at Paris First Methodist Church, 324 West Court Street, Paris, Illinois 61944. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Central Time prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Kansas, Illinois.
