Carl Pryse Williams Jr., 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 13, 2026. Carl was born July 28, 1932, in Estill County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Carl Pryse Williams Sr. and Nannie Ruth Kirby Williams.

Carl was a graduate of Anderson High School and Eastern Kentucky University. Carl was a veteran and officer of the United States Army, where he held the highest security clearance the military offered. Stationed for much of his career in Germany, Carl gathered, received, classified, and documented information all across the European theatre, often entering communist countries. Carl became fluent in the German language.

After his military career, Carl established Williams Men's Wear after a brief stint as a sales representative for a national hardware company. Carl owned and operated his store in Lawrenceburg for 32 years. Carl was a former deacon and treasurer of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, KY. Carl loved his church and his Savior.

Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mary Doris Armstrong Williams;  one sister, Elizabeth Williams; and one granddaughter, Mallory Yvonne Williams.

Carl is survived by two sons, Mike (Margie) Williams of Paducah, KY, and Paul (Dana) Williams of Lawrenceburg, KY; three grandchildren, Megan (Alan) Redditt, Jay Williams, and Keifer Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Brooks and Pryse Redditt, and Cali Williams.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 111 North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, KY, on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with Dr. Bob Ehr and Rev. Alan Redditt officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Kirby, Marty Carter, Keevin Carter, Tony Woolums, Chad Stratton, and Jay Williams.
