Bonnie Royalty Funeral Service Broadcast

Bonnie Jean Riley Royalty, 89, went to be with her heavenly father on August 13, 2025, at Dominion Senior Living in Frankfort, KY following a four-year battle with lung and bone cancer. She was born on January 7, 1936, in Mercer County to the late William Russell Riley and Virgie Myrtle Ellis Riley.

Bonnie was a 1954 graduate of Salvisa High School where she was the salutatorian of her class and a 1956 graduate of Campbellsville College. Bonnie was a homemaker for many years before serving as the church secretary for Sand Spring Baptist Church for 20 years. As a woman of deep faith and tireless dedication, she was a faithful member of Sand Spring Baptist Church for 67 years where she served as church clerk, Baptist Association clerk, WMU director, a member of the adult choir and Swingin' Saints choir, bereavement meal volunteer, Bible school worker, a prayer warrior, and children's Sunday school teacher.

She loved to read, cook delicious meals for family and friends, and cheer on the UK Wildcat basketball team. She was also a wonderful seamstress and throughout the years created several pictures with cross-stitch and needlepoint to decorate her home.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Connie Clifford Royalty; one brother, William Russell Riley, Jr.; and three sisters, Marie Carter, Dorothy Sparrow, and Edna Phillips.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Kevin (Saletta) Royalty, Steven (Dawn) Royalty, and Andrea (Steve) Campbell; her grandchildren, Caitlyn (Tyler) Smith, Jessica (Ben) Gingerich, and Carsyn Campbell; her great-grandsons, Korban Smith and Ezra Gingerich; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Sand Spring Baptist Church. Dr. Mike Hamrick will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Smith, Ben Gingerich, Bob Renner, Dennis Stiglich, Kent Sparrow, and Ronnie Robinson.

Memorial contributions in Bonnie's honor may be given to Sand Spring Baptist Church to the Playground Fund, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, or the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering due to her love for missions.
