Bobby Ellis Shields Monroe, 75, of Lawrenceburg, husband of 43 years to Nancy Smith Monroe, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born July 15, 1941 in Spencer County, KY, Bobby was the son of the late Albert Zachary and Eliza McGaughey Monroe. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Patsy Sims and Jessie Mae Searcy.
Bobby was a 1959 graduate of Anderson County High School and worked as service manager and in the parts department for several auto dealerships including, Jenkins Chevrolet, Jeff Jones Chevrolet, and Bob Allen. He was a former member of the Wheels of Time Car Club.
Along with his wife Nancy, Bobby is survived by three children, Jana Gail (Marcus) Beasley, Brent (Cathy) Monroe, and Chris (Laura) Monroe; one granddaughter, Kathryn Gail Monroe; six step-grandchildren, Kurtis Chowning, Shelby Walker, Leah Beasley, Shayne Aldridge, Courtney and Stanley Greene; and 3 step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17th beginning at 1:00 PM at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Montgomery will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM Saturday.
