Bobby Louis Roark, 82, died November, 10, 2021, in the arms of his beloved wife of 59 years, Marcia. He died at home surrounded by family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Alonzo and Elsie Ray (Chilton) Roark.

After graduating from Mercer County High in 1957, he joined the army and met Marcia (Hart) Roark while stationed at Fort Chafee in Arkansas. They wed and settled in Lawrenceburg, where he began a 50+ year career as the head of Roark Builders.

The first large subdivision he developed was Lakeview Subdivision, where he proudly named streets after his wife and children. He also developed several other subdivisions in Lawrenceburg, including Woodlake and Running Brook, where he continued to build until 2019. While primarily a builder of single-family homes, he also built apartment buildings in several Central KY communities and remodeled the old church and constructed a new rectory at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, where he attended regularly. He was once named the KY Housing Builder of the Year and is estimated to have built close to 1,000 homes in his career.

Bobby will be remembered as a hard worker and devoted husband and father who loved his family, car racing, the UK Wildcats and a good joke. In addition to his wife, Marcia, he is survived by children Sheila (Doug) Terry, Robert (Wendy) Roark, Sharon Roark, Grant (Erin) Roark and Jennifer (JC) Dumas along with grandchildren Becca, Ryan, Colin and Clayton, and step-grandsons Neal (Drema) Terry and Trevor (Halie) Terry.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16 ^th from 4 – 8 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N Main St, Lawrenceburg. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 17 ^th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 120 N Gatewood St in Lawrenceburg with Fathers Chris Clay and Jeff Estacio officiating.  Burial will follow with full military honors at Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
