Robert Henry "Bob" Wiedo, 73, husband of Brenda Sawdy Wiedo, passed away January 22, 2022 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.  Born January 11, 1949 in Lexington, KY, Bob was the son of the late Russell Roy Wiedo and Laura Withers Wiedo.

A 1967 graduate of Woodford County High School, Bob received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1972.  He retired as an Assistant Chief of Engineering for the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington following 30 years of service.  His many enjoyments included working on his farm, spending time outdoors, but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandkids and family.  "He loved his family fiercely.  Nothing was more important.  Everything he did was for the betterment of his family.  He was the best Dad we ever could have asked for.  And the best Papaw we ever could have hoped for.  We've never known anyone that loved their family more."

Including Brenda, his wife of 45 years, he is survived by his three sons, Robert Edward (wife Melissa Nicholson) Wiedo of Lawrenceburg, Jack Russell (wife Emily Shouse) Wiedo of Glensboro, and Richard Ross (wife Jennifer) Wiedo of Taylorsville; nine grandchildren, Lauren, Caleb, Aiden, Abby, Savannah, Abigail, Maggie, Hailey, and Laura; a sister, Carol Diane (husband Webb Yeager) Suter of Campbellsburg; a sister-in-law, Linda Snapp Wiedo of Frankfort.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Wayne Wiedo.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 27 ^th from 5 – 8 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Private services will be held on Friday with burial in the Wiedo Family Cemetery in Anderson County, KY.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Wiedo, Jack Wiedo, Ross Wiedo, John Robinson, Carlton Hatton, and Todd Edmondson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Bob Wiedo, are suggested to Open Hands Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 664, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
