Obituary

Billy Gene Richardson, 87, husband of 63 years to Joyce Curtsinger Richardson, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY.  Billy was born August 16, 1932 in Anderson County, the son of Ernest Thomas Richardson and Hallie Casey Richardson.

Along with his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his sister and her husband, Betty Jo and Frank Robinson, and a nephew, Brian Thomas Robinson.

Billy attended Transylvania University and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  A member of Glensboro Baptist Church, Billy attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed going to watch ballgames, especially loved watching his sons and grandchildren play.

Including his wife, Billy is survived by two sons, Rex Prescott Richardson (wife Belinda) and Ricky Vaughn Richardson (wife Marianne), both of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Katie (husband Logan) Young, Jamie Richardson, Matthew Lee Richardson, Patrick Michael (wife Kelsey) Richardson, and Amy Wetherby; great grandchildren, Gavin and Spencer Young, Avery, Henry, and Gracelyn Richardson, Ryne Montgomery, Mallory and John Wetherby; a niece Elizabeth Sewick and a nephew Frank Robinson, Jr.

Funeral service 1:00 PM Thursday, July 30 th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Robert F. Ehr and Dr. Jeff Eaton officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Richardson, Patrick Richardson, Logan Young, Jamie Richardson, Allen Curtsinger, and Ronnie Baker.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, Television Ministry, 111 N. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
