Billy Gene "Bill" Widmer, 70, of Alger, Michigan, formerly of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Alger, Michigan.  Bill was the husband of the late JoAnn Jones Widmer, and was born August 13, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Helen McPherson Longlott and Gene Widmer.

Including his wife and parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Widmer.

Bill was a retired 20 year veteran with the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, the American Legion Post #370 in Skidway Lake, Michigan and the American Legion Riders.  Bill was an avid Kentucky Wildcat Sports fan, and enjoyed traveling around on his golf cart.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Sara Widmer of Lawrenceburg and Amy Widmer of Harrodsburg;  a cousin Don Utt and his wife Melanie, of Prescott, Michigan.

Graveside services with military honors for Bill will be held, 10 A.M., Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating.
